Surya Chandra Healing Yoga School
These teacher training programs are for those interested in an opportunity to learn and experience yoga in-depth and produce innovative teachings at the highest level.
JJ's intention is to offer an integrated curriculum that provides comprehensive programs for students of yoga to continue their studies. These programs can prepare students to teach yoga or simply be an avenue for greater study of yoga. The focus is on quality, excellence and integrity in providing a complete education in the art, science and philosophy of yoga.
There are two ways to join one of these teacher training programs: 1. as a correspondence student or 2. as a location-enrolled student.
Correspondent students may join a YTT at any time and may take up to 5 years to complete their program. They may take workshops at any time according to their schedule. Some of the training must be with JJ, but some of it can be with other E-RYTs or approved instructors. Trainings with JJ may be through SKYPE classes, workshops or retreats offered by JJ. (See JJ's schedule for more information.)
Joining as a correspondence student suits those with schedules that appeal to a less structured schedule. They also suit those who do not live near one of the yoga studios where one of these trainings is taking place. Correspondence students administrative fee is $1500.
Location-Enrolled students have specific attendence requirements (see attendence under Policy and Procedures). Location-specific enrollment is ideal for those who live near one of the locations for a training especially if the student will be able to make most of the training weekends.
The 500-hour Programs requires a 200 RYT (or equivalent) to join. The 700-hour Program requires a 500-RYT (or equivalent) to join and is required for the advanced certificates toward becoming a Yoga Therapist. The 900-hour Program requires the 700-hour Certificate from Surya Chandra Healing Yoga School. The 900-hour Program is required for the 1200-hour Yoga Therapy Certificate and the 1200-hour Program is required for the 1500-hour Certificate.
